At approximately 2030 UTC on 17 February 2025, en route from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), Delta Airlines flight 4819 crash-landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).
The Bombardier CRJ-900, carrying 76 passengers and 4 crew members, flipped upside down during its landing.
All passengers and crew survived the incident. Reports state 18 individuals sustained injuries.
While the cause of the incident remains unclear typical factors contributing to aircraft flipping during landing include malfunctions or errors in acceleration and braking systems as well as severe weather conditions. Toronto was experiencing a snowstorm at the time of the incident.
The Canadian National Transport Safety Board has launched a formal investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
